Nicky as therapist...

"My daughter was really struggling with the transition to middle school when we first met Nicky.  Now she is thriving!  Nicky was great with our daughter but just as importantly, she was great with us.  She really helped us to hear what our daughter needed and gave us tools to support her while also giving her tools she could use to support herself.  I highly recommend Nicky MacCallum MFT."

"Nicky is non-judgmental, caring, supportive and she really listens. She was able to help me be honest with myself and taught me all sorts of tools that I still use today.  If ever I need therapy again I will go back to Nicky."

T.R., Private practice client, Oakland, CA

"Getting to do drawing, collage and sand tray is great for getting past your brain!  I don't think I would have made the progress I have without Nicky helping me figure out how to deal with the stuff that gets in my way."
J.L.  High school senior & private practice client Oakland, CA

Nicky as trainer...

Nicky has provided training on Vicarious Trauma to the doctors in our Primary Care Department. She is a very effective trainer with a warm, supportive style.  The knowledge she shared and her suggestions were very well applied to the specific issues these doctors face in their work with children.  Each attendee left the class having the tools to identify the specific symptoms of Vicarious Trauma in oneself as well as effective means to cope with them.  We hope to have her return to do more presentations in the future."

Nicky as clinical supervisor...

"Nicky MacCallum is a knowledgeable and resourceful mentor and clinical advisor.  From the first moment she forms a relationship with supervisees and clients, she assumes the role of a committed advocate. Her dedication to the field of psychotherapy is evident in both her advocacy and her professional involvement in the field.  Her clinical wisdom ranges from her precise understanding of legal and ethical situations and how best to handle them, to her supportive insight into the process of preparing for the licensing exams.  She has experience and versatility working with diverse populations and always brings in a systemic, family, or organizational perspective to best assess and support the heart of the client’s life experience."
